What is a heat pipe and how does it work?

A heat pipe can be referred to as a "superconductor" because of its remarkable thermal capacity. The heat pipe is attached to the back of the LED engine and quickly transfers heat from one point to another.

Heat pipes are effective in moving heat away from LEDs and the circuit board so the heat sink assembly can dissipate heat. KramerLED uses heat sinks with integrated heat pipes developed expressly for LED applications.
